A Reino Unido é um dos principais mercados consumidores de discos de vinil no mundo, por isso a pesquisa que a instituição inglesa Official Charts Company acabou de fazer é tão importante. A companhia divulgou o primeiro levantamento oficial de vendas de LPs e descobriu quais foram os títulos mais procurados na última década.
Em primeiro lugar, ficou AM (2013), do Arctic Monkeys, seguido de The King Of Limbs (2011), do Radiohead, The Dark Side Of The Moon (1973), do Pink Floyd, Random Access Memories (2013), do Daft Punk e The Endless River (2014), o último disco do Pink Floyd.
Dentre os álbuns clássicos da lista estão Abbey Road (1969), dos Beatles (10º lugar), Wish You Were Here (1975), do Pink Floyd (20º lugar) e o disco de estreia do Led Zeppelin, de 1969, em 21º lugar. De música contemporânea, estão presentes discos como Royal Blood (2014), em 6º lugar, 21 (2011), da Adele, em 11º lugar, Lazaretto (2014), do Jack White, em 13º lugar, Lost In The Dream (2014), do War On Drugs, em 22º lugar e An Awesome Wave (2012), do Alt-J, em 25º.
É verdade que há uma certa preferência pelos artistas britânicos, mas, ainda assim, o levantamento serve de termômetro para medir como andam as vendas de discos de vinil no mundo.
