Kendrick Lammar dominou a premiação, concorrendo em nada menos que 11 categorias (sim!). Taylor Swift, que gravou o remix de uma de suas faixas-indisponíveis-para-streaming com o rapper, vem logo atrás, com sete indicações por seu 1989. O canadense The Weeknd concorre ao lado da cantora com o álbum Beauty Behind The Madness.
James Bay, Sam Hunt, Tori Kelly, Meghan Trainor e Courtney Barnett disputam o prêmio de Artista Revelação, outra categoria que mostra que o pop está grandão na 58ª edição do Grammy. O pop chiclete de Trainor estourou por aqui, mas ela parece um pouco fraca para a categoria – assim como Sam Hunt, menos conhecido no Brasil, mas em alta lá fora.
Sinceramente: seria muito legal se a Courtney Barnett, bem mais autêntica, levasse essa, né?! Nossa torcida, no fim das contas, é para que os Grammy Awards não se rendam tanto à repetição das rádios – afinal, já temos o VMA & derivados pra medir a popularidade dos artistas, com menos foco no trabalho em si.
A divulgação dos nominees foi feita ontem (7) durante um programa matinal norte-americano, o CBS This Morning. As categorias principais foram anunciadas pela cantora Alicia Keys, que tem no currículo nada menos que 15 estatuetas do maior prêmio da música. Os ganhadores serão revelados na cerimônia de premiação, que rola dia 15 de fevereiro.
